Rides Team Members at Morgan’s Wonderland begin in a general support role within the Rides Department and play an essential part in delivering a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all guests. Upon hire, each Team Member will complete required departmental training, including the opportunity to pursue IROC Operator certification.
Team Members who successfully pass IROC certification will qualify for assignment as a Ride Operator, a safety-sensitive position responsible for operating attractions and performing ride-related safety functions. Team Members who do not pass or do not pursue IROC certification will serve as Ride Hosts, a non–safety-sensitive guest support role focused on hospitality and inclusive engagement in designated areas.
Both roles contribute to the mission of creating outstanding, accessible guest experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Core Functions for All Rides Team Members
- Provide exceptional guest service by welcoming guests, answering questions, and helping create an inclusive and friendly environment.
- Maintain professionalism, dependable work habits, and respectful communication with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
- Support cleanliness and organization in assigned areas, including queue lines, play spaces, and guest-facing zones.
- Monitor guest activity and identify when assistance, guidance, or intervention is needed.
- Adhere to all park guidelines, accessibility standards, and operational expectations.
- Report guest concerns, safety issues, or operational needs to leadership promptly.
If Assigned as Ride Operator (Upon Passing IROC Certification) Safely operate assigned attractions following all IROC, park, and manufacturer safety procedures.
- Perform detailed pre-operation and post-operation ride inspections and required documentation.
- Assist guests with boarding, exiting, and appropriate use of restraints, ensuring accessibility accommodations are followed.
Continuously monitor ride activity to ensure safety and respond to irregularities.
- Communicate ride rules and safety instructions clearly and courteously.
- Follow emergency procedures and escalate concerns to leadership immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of ride load/unload zones.
If Assigned as Ride Host (Non–Safety Sensitive Role) Serve as a friendly, supportive presence in guest areas such as The Wharf, Playground, and Sensory Village. Engage with guests through conversation, direction, and inclusive play interactions.
- Support accessibility needs by assisting with mobility devices, guiding guests, and facilitating inclusive participation.
- Help manage crowd flow through guest areas and activity spaces.
- Monitor activity zones to promote safe, appropriate behavior and report concerns as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum age: 16 years or older. Customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests of all ages and abilities. Strong communication skills for providing instructions, answering questions, and engaging guests. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and uphold operational guidelines.
Attention to detail, situational awareness, and the ability to identify when to intervene or escalate concerns. Adaptability in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Consistent attendance, reliability, and adherence to assigned schedules. For Ride Operator assignment: Ability to successfully complete IROC certification and all required operator training.
