Job DetailsJob Location: Omaha Zoo - Omaha, NE 68107Position Type: Part TimeJob Title: Adventure Guide FLSA Status: Non-exempt Hours: Seasonal (late March - October, pending business operations and individual performance; average of 20-24 hours during peak season) Pay Rate: $15.40/hour This is a seasonal position with a maximum duration of six months, based on individual performance and business operations.

Summary: Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking an Adventure Guide to guide child/adult play interactions in Children’s Adventure Trails exhibit. Adventure Guides help to develop the child’s physical capabilities, cognitive abilities and strengthen social emotional
skills:
Adventure Guides implement new play activities and model the best child/parent interactions. Adventure Guides strive to enrich children’s natural curiosity through diverse, child-centered explorations. Duties and
Responsibilities:

and Abilities: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older. Valid Driver’s License required. High School Diploma or GED (General

Degree) preferred but not required.
- Training in early childhood teaching techniques preferred but not required.
Supervisory

Must have a fun, outgaining, enthusiastic, and imaginative personality. Should enjoy singing, dancing, storytelling, and pretending with children. Must work well under pressure and in diverse weather conditions. Ability to utilize play activities while also allowing for open-ended and multiple outcome

Candidates might be (depending on position) required to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, negative skin tuberculosis test, and possess a valid driver’s license with a good history. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Position requires standing for long periods, walking, and the ability to use hands to signal and feel.
Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch and/or crawl; talk and hear; occasionally sit; frequently lift a minimum of 30-50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, under all weather conditions. This position requires a minimum of 20 hours of availability weekly during the summer season to include at least one weekend.
