We are currently searching for a Sr. Project Manager, Architecture. This position can be a hybrid role in our Baltimore, Akron, Columbus, Pensacola, Jacksonville, Lexington, Louisville, Virginia Beach or Norfolk offices.
What You Will Do:
The Sr. Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of architectural projects through all phases — from concept through construction. This role blends technical architectural expertise with project leadership, client engagement, and financial oversight responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect with strong design sensibility, proven team leadership, and the ability to manage complex project schedules, budgets, and consultant coordination. Our Architecture Group focuses on projects in the fields of:
- Large Commercial / Public Sector
- Federal/Dept of Defense / military
- Community/Municipal projects (civic centers, libraries, govt’ buildings, recreation),
- Education (higher education and K-12)
- Justice
- Residential
- Workplace
- Hospitality
- Healthcare
- Historic Restoration
- Transit
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee design development, construction documents, and project deliverables from concept through closeout.
- Participate in design charrettes, field assessments, technical studies, and detailed reports.
- Utilize Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam to develop and review design and construction documents.
- Ensure design and technical quality meet PRIME AE and industry standards.
- Lead project planning including scope, budget, schedule, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Manage day-to-day project operations, proactively identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate efforts between internal architectural teams and engineering disciplines (MEP, Structural, Building Envelope and Civil) as well as external consultants.
- Track and manage project budgets and profitability; monitor earned value and provide forecasts.
- Prepare and manage contracts, subconsultant agreements, and change orders.
- Facilitate regular client meetings, internal project check-ins, and milestone reviews.
- Provide detailed project reporting to leadership and clients.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, contract requirements, and jurisdictional approvals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
- Lead, mentor, and guide junior staff across multiple projects.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring:
- Graduate of a Bachelor or Master of Architecture program.
- Registered Architect.
- LEED Accredited Professional strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in all phases of project design, construction documentation and construction materials, along with project delivery and team management experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written communication, including client presentations.
- Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary design teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Proficient in Revit and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge base of building codes, standards, building structures, and engineering systems.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
