What This Role Is Accountable For
The Copywriter II supports Quality Bicycle Products (Q), our owned brands, and select exclusive brands by independently creating high-quality written and verbal content while contributing to creative concept development. Fully proficient in their craft, this individual applies strong editorial judgment, adapts seamlessly across brand voices, and helps elevate the quality and consistency of creative work. They also contribute to improving processes and supporting team growth through collaboration and feedback.
Organizational Structure
Copywriters are part of the Q Marketing organization and report to a Creative Director. Reporting relationships may vary based on business needs, development opportunities, and long-term assignments.
Scope of Work
Work may include advertising, brand and product content, blogs, editorial, packaging, press releases, proofreading, social content, video scripts, corporate communications, speech writing, and more. Projects range from small to large and may include participation in strategic planning.
Copywriters are generalists who may develop specialized strengths (e-commerce, PR, social, etc.) based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept and write compelling long-form narrative content.
- Develop short-form headlines, taglines, and calls to action that engage and convert.
Deeply understand products and audiences; apply insights to strengthen messaging.
- Collaborate in creative concepting for copy, video, and visual storytelling.
Apply and reinforce brand voice and editorial standards across multiple brands.
- Contribute to brand positioning discussions and present ideas persuasively.
- Identify challenges and propose creative solutions to improve outcomes and workflows.
Serve as a trusted copywriting advisor to marketing and creative partners.
Use AI responsibly as a support tool—not a source of finished copy—ensuring human-led, accurate, brand-aligned work.
- Support and mentor Copywriter I team members.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Portfolio of professional copywriting work and short written statement with application.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong grammar and proofreading ability.
3+ years of technical and creative writing experience in an agency, client, or marketing environment.
Working knowledge of web copy, email, social, short-form ads, SEO, product descriptions, and long-form content.
Ability to adopt and maintain multiple brand voices across channels.
Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-directed, proactive learner.
Strong interpersonal skills and follow-through.
Open to feedback and able to provide constructive feedback to others.
- Organized with version tracking and file management.
Ability to proof and edit according to style guidelines.
Collaborative team player aligned with the team mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
Passion for bicycles and/or understanding of cycling culture.
Ability to provide feedback that strengthens creative outcomes and processes.
Other Criteria
Physical Requirements: Ability to work extensively on a phone and computer.

Anticipated hiring range: $78,000 – $82,000 USD
