ABOUT Hermosa:

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Construction Coordinator - Mechanical manages and coordinates daily construction activities and skilled, technical, and professional staff engaged in construction and operational integrity of process facility mechanical systems and associated utilities.  Responsibilities include coordination of multiple contractors and subcontractors including:  planning, quality assurance, scheduling, reporting, health, safety, security, environmental compliance, community relations and meeting targets within budget and on time.This role is based at the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Manages Site construction contractors on a daily basis;
• Ensures that work is always executed in a safe manner;
• Ensures that all work conforms with the specified quality specifications and standards; Assures compliance with applicable regulatory and building code requirements including Federal, State, and Local, including conformity with industry codes of practice and standards;
• Ensures that S32 corporate safety and business goals are met or exceeded;
• Ensures that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with S32’s environmental and community relations policies and plans;
• Reviews and provides input to project construction schedules;
• Implement remedial recovery action as required;
• Ensures strict compliance with S32 Change Management processes;
• Ensures timely delivery of project construction services to internal stakeholders;
• Provides input to contractor risk assessments;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

Minimum 5 years of large-scale construction site management;

Experience managing and coordinating mechanical subcontractors;:

Experience managing and coordinating project logistics;:

Experience managing construction contracts and vendor services contracts;:

Experience working with teams and interacting with customers;:

Experience working in a cross-cultural setting;:

Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture;

Experience with Building Information Management systems;:

Visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence Strong Quality Assurance background demonstrated with qualifications and experience leading to efficient commissioning and handover practices Knowledge of industrial mechanical construction and trade practices, including grinding mill, flotation, pumping, piping, and conveyance design, execution and commissioning.

Strong and effective communication and engagement skills Relationship building skills: demonstrated empathy, emotional intelligence and cross-cultural effectiveness with the ability to achieve consensus and build alignment cooperatively

• Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Demonstrated experience implementing Environmental Compliance obligations.
