DESCRIPTION:
This is maintenance and personal services work in a remote recreational environment in the Penobscot River Corridor. Typical duties include resource protection, rule enforcement, campsite maintenance, collecting fees, repairing facilities as needed, monitoring public use, responding to incidents, and maintaining equipment and records.
The person in this position will assist other PRC districts as needed. The person in this position will be trained and certified in Wilderness First Aid, chainsaw operation, and boat operation as a requirement of this position. The person in this position may supervise a small number of employees and volunteers.
This person must be able to live and work independently in remote conditions and must be able to, safely and efficiently, operate a range of equipment including vehicles, motorboats, radio systems, canoes with and without motors, chainsaws, and other power and hand tools. QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year
experience:
in park maintenance and operation or equivalent.

(These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and

- maintaining and operating generators, solar systems, chainsaws, snowmobiles, motorboats and canoes with motors.
Applicants must also be able to meet the required training and certification
