    Job Description

    The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands Division, is recruiting to fill a Full Time Seasonal (30 Weeks) Park Ranger position, located in Richmond. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, CONSERVATION & FORESTRY BUREAU OF PARKS AND LANDS PARK RANGER (BOATING FACILITIES DIVISION) Opening Date: March 30, 2026 Closing Date: End of day April 10, 2026 Location: Richmond Position Number: 01720-6254 Position Type: Seasonal - 30 Weeks* Class Code: 9211 Grade: 13 (Operations/Maintenance) Salary: $16.38 - $21.68 Per Hour *Season: 01720-6254 – 30 Weeks (Approximately 04/06/2026 to 10/30/2026) Interested applicants need to complete an online State of Maine Direct Hire Application and a detailed Resume.

    BRIEF JOB:

    DESCRIPTION:

    This is maintenance and personal services work at boat launching facilities in central and southern Maine, enforcing boating facility rules and regulations, patrolling facilities, reporting problems and malfunctions, and mowing lawns.

    Responsibilities:

    include performing routine maintenance and repair on various elements of the boat site; boat launching concrete ramps, floats, access drives, parking areas, lawns, pathways and cleaning toilet facilities to ensure they are in a safe, clean and attractive condition.

    • Maintain facility buildings and equipment, paint buildings, pavement striping with powered spraying equipment, light carpentry, and shingle roofs.

    The person in this position must be able to operate a range of equipment including vehicles, tractors, mowers, and other power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
