Why Work With The Downsizers Work that values skill, experience, and professionalism—not rushed, high-volume moving Purpose-driven projects where your work directly supports seniors and their families Shuttle-style moves that prioritize organization, care, and attention to detail over brute speed A calmer, more respectful work environment compared to standard residential or commercial moving
A supportive, team-oriented culture where experienced movers are trusted and appreciated Job Description
About the Role:
The Downsizers is hiring for an Experienced Mover to join our growing team. This role is designed for movers who already understand professional moving standards and take pride in safe handling, efficiency, and respectful client interaction. Our projects primarily support seniors and families during major life transitions, where experience and professionalism are essential.
What We’re Looking For This position is best suited for experienced movers, not entry-level candidates.
You should already be comfortable with:
Professional loading and unloading of moving trucks using safe, efficient techniques and ensuring item protection Furniture disassembly/reassembly and protection Safe lifting, loading, and unloading practices Working efficiently on deadline-driven moves Interacting respectfully with clients in sensitive situations
Adaptability, reliability, positivity, and a calm demeanor are essential. Role Purpose (Why This Role Exists) The Mover supports the safe, efficient, and respectful transport of client belongings during moves, estate liquidations, and downsizing projects. This role exists to ensure items are prepared, loaded, transported, unloaded, and placed with care while providing a calm, professional, and service-oriented experience for clients during often stressful transitions.
Working as part of a moving team, the Mover follows project instructions, safety standards, and company procedures while representing The Downsizers’ values and commitment to exceptional client care. This role is also responsible for clearly communicating job completion through same-day project feed updates, including photos, notes, and any required contracts or documentation, to ensure accurate records and smooth follow-through.
Why This Role Is Different Most of our projects are shuttle-style moves, involving the careful transport and delivery of items to family members, consignment partners, auction destinations, or new locations within senior living communities. Moves often take place in phases and require attention to detail, organization, and clear communication rather than high-speed bulk hauling.
