Our Summer Day Camp is June 1st-August 7th. Staff Orientation is May 26th-29th.
We are now hiring for full time Camp Counselors and Assistant Camp Counselors, a part-time Summer Day Camp Attendant, and a full-time Assistant Camp Director.

Job Summary: The Seasonal Summer Day Camp Assistant Director is responsible for
- assisting in program development, implementation, and the direct supervision of
children in Summer Day Camp.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Camp Director in the planning, organization, and daily operation
of the summer day camp
- Assist with supervising campers to ensure their safety, well-being, and
positive camp experience at all times
- Help recruit, train, and supervise seasonal camp counselors and support staff
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, including modeling appropriate
behavior and enforcing camp policies
- Assist with developing, implementing, and supervising daily schedules,
activities, and special events
- Ensure camp activities are age-appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with
program goals
- Monitor attendance, transitions, and group management throughout the day
- Assist with behavior management and conflict resolution among campers and
staff
- Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding camper needs,
concerns, or incidents
- Support the implementation of health, safety, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, attendance, and
program documentation
- Help manage camp supplies, equipment, and facility setup/cleanup
- Step in to lead activities or supervise groups as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support a safe, fun, and well-organized
camp environment
- Driving is an essential function of this position.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required, with:
completion of some college-level coursework in education or a related field.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
- Good communication skills including interpersonal skills.
- English proficiency required; Spanish language skills preferred.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
organization.
- Exceptional flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects or tasks
simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate and work within a team.
- Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution
skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters
- Strong independent judgement.
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint
and Excel.
- General computer knowledge is required to access payroll, timekeeping and
personal data via a web-based system.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm
- training as established by The Salvation Army.

Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision. Excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment. This position will required the ability to lift and/or move more than 25 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions: The work environment is a community center with light to moderate traffic and noise levels. In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (natatorium) while other locations (gymnasium) may be considered moderately loud in nature.
Qualifications:
The pay rate for this position is $17.00 an hour. Must be at least 18 years old.
