About:
the role Responsible for driving the design, delivery, and enterprise adoption of Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions. Partners closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and product owners to translate strategic priorities into scalable, production-grade AI solutions that deliver measurable value.
Key Accountabilities: AI Solution Leadership: Lead the AI engineering efforts at Trustmark and take full ownership of solution design, development, and delivery. Translate business problems into actionable AI architectures and solution blueprints - agentic workflows, tool integration, orchestration patterns, retrieval and RAG design, guardrails, observability.
- Work with InfoSec, Data and AI governance teams to establish frameworks for AI governance, ethical, and compliant AI development.
Act as a thought leader, influencing stakeholders on emerging AI paradigms and responsible AI practices. LLM Strategy: Define the strategy for model selection (Open vs Proprietary) fine-tuning, and RAG architectures to ensure domain specificity and data privacy. Technology Evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging AI, GenAI, and agentic technologies, frameworks, and tools to propose innovative solutions and ensure the architecture remains current.
Solution Development & Integration: Independently design end-to-end solution architecture for AI systems integrating data, LLMs and multi-agent systems with existing applications and data sources. Own a focused portfolio of agentic and GenAI initiatives; ensure alignment to business strategy and enterprise AI roadmap.
- Create and maintain solution architecture artifacts, risk/issue.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with business stakeholders, engineers and other IT teams and partners to develop, test, and iterate on AI products. Product Delivery & Adoption: Build scalable industry strength AI solutions - including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, version control for models/data.
- Establish comprehensive monitoring and observability frameworks to track AI system performance, cost-per-query, data/model drift, and potential anomalies in production environments.
- Collaborate with the enterprise AI Change Management and
Education:
teams to ensure impactful communication strategies to promote AI success stories and best practices.
- Lead the design and rapid prototyping of AI components to validate architectural approaches and showcase transformative capabilities to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related technical field. 8+ years of
experience:
in AI/ML engineering with hands-on delivery in full stack development in production environments. Very strong
experience:
in building traditional AI/ML solutions including predictive modeling, NLP, optimization, and anomaly detection, with hands-on delivery in production environments. Evolving
experience:
with Agentic AI and Generative AI frameworks, including chat and voice-based applications, RAG, and working with leading LLMs and multimodal models. Very strong
experience:
in deploying full-stack software applications.
Experience:
with cloud platforms and MLOps practices for deploying and managing models in production. Strong expertise in deploying optimized performance tested scalable AI/ML solutions. Evolving
experience:
with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or equivalent, with a strong curiosity toward emerging agentic patterns and frameworks. Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audience. Preferred: Multi-Agent System Design: Practical
experience:
in designing and orchestrating multi-agent workflows, defining agent roles, communication protocols, task decomposition, and integration automation tools such N8N. Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms (preferably in Azure or Databricks).
Experience:
in identifying core insurance workflows and applying process redesign approaches for maximizing AI value through process transformation. Knowledge in Microsoft Agentic framework. Insurance industry

range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois): $135,291.00 - $251,255.00 per year The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location,
