About:
the role We are looking for an Associate Director, Investment Accounting.
- Responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, analyzing investment data, and identifying variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, assess risks, and help optimize investment strategies.
Key Accountabilities: Investment Transactions: Analyzes and monitors vendor investment accounting transactions and reporting. Interacts with vendor to understand transaction and accounting/reporting trends. Reconciles monthly investment journal entries and resolves discrepancies. Partners with Investment department to understand properties of purchased investments.
Statutory reporting: Prepares quarterly and annual statutory statement schedules/exhibits.
- Prepares NAIC filings for more complex schedules, exhibits and notes.
- Reviews annual investment schedules and exhibits, including AVR and IMR.
- Prepares investment statement notes, general interrogatories, and notes to the audited financials.
Cash Management: Prepares cash management reports for quarterly non-insurance meetings. Partners with Corporate and business unit Finance teams to analyze and understand cash flow results and key variances. Variance Analysis: Prepares and reviews for significant, unusual, or unreasonable variances in the quarterly financial statements.
- Analyzes key investment variances for the TIC and TLC legal entities.
- Develops and implements metrics to analyze variances.
Tax Work Papers: Prepares and reviews investment tax work papers and explanations of key variances for Tax department. Audit: Oversees investment-related audit requests from both internal and external auditors.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 6 – 8 years of related
experience:
