Emergency Department Tech - Part Time

Department EMERGENCY ROOM NURSING - 206230 Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift Pay Grade Job

Description:

The Emergency Department and Observation Unit Tech, under the supervision of a nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients including (but not limited to) starting IVs, drawing blood, inserting Foley catheters, and doing EKGs.

• Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

Previous

experience:

in a related job field involving direct patient care (e.g. hospital nursing assistant; pre-hospital emergency care; hospital technician such as phlebotomist or RT tech) or recent completion of one year of nursing school including clinical rotations, is required Certification & Licensures BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved is required.

New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
