Overview Overnight Camp Program Coordinator The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and supervision of a specific camp in a manner that contributes to the growth and functioning of the campers and program. Implement staff training, scheduling, and supervision of daily program operations. Develop and evaluate classes and activities to maintain a dynamic and well received program. Responsible for monitoring and supervising staff in unit, ensuring the safety of all children at camp, leading a group in activities daily, assisting in overall camp operations, participating in planning and implementing quality YMCA programming and serving as a positive role model to the campers.
Pay & Benefits Weekly Pay: $676.72 - $717.52* This position is exempt from overtime because you will work as a camp counselor or program counselor of an organized camp, and you will be paid a weekly salary equivalent to more than 85% of the minimum wage for a 40-hour week, subject to deduction for the value of lodging you receive and all withholdings and deductions as required by law.
Daily Equivalent: Approximately $112.79 - $119.59 per day

Mandatory All Staff Training - May 28, 2026 Summer Camp - June 7-August 8, 2026
Responsibilities:
Act as primary contact for parents, camp leadership, and camp staff.
- Assess camp activities and work with camp director for continued improvement
- Lead meetings, organize schedules, supervise staff, and conduct staff evaluations
- Ensure program areas in camp and off site have adequate supplies, and are in good safe operating condition
- Create and administer evaluations of programs and events to track changes in attitudes and knowledge about program
Play a key role in summer staff training, and demonstrate proficiency through practical teaching in educational classes and recreation activities such as archery, surfing, climbing, and other skills common to the camp setting Supervise seasonal instructors to ensure quality instruction and program delivery occurs
Play a key role in conducting seasonal evaluations of program staff
- Demonstrate a strong sense of investment in camp by actively supporting the cleanliness of facilities, care of equipment and supplies, and stewardship of the natural environment
- Ensure the safety and supervision of students and participants
Understand the need for, and demonstrate willingness to be an exemplary role model at all times in camp, on field trips, and at other times when representing the YMCA Work as part of the camp management team. Serve as Manager on Duty for designated nights when program is in operation Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to respond swiftly in an emergency situation
This position requires living on-site
Qualifications:
Minimum 21 years of age Minimum 2 year’s experience in outdoor education or recreation, including experience in resident camp programming A degree or certification in child development, education, recreation, or a related field preferred Must have experience in curriculum development, staff supervision and program implementation
Must have current driver's license with clear driving record
CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
