Position Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Ski Patroller to become part of our Ski Patrol management team and help move us into the future. The Assistant Director works directly with the Ski Patrol Director and ski area management to coordinate, manage, and assist in all Ski Patrol operations including first aid, lift evacuation, avalanche control, incident investigation, budgeting, scheduling, and other Mountain Operations. The successful candidate has a strong background in ski patrol, snow safety, administrative skills, and has a proven record of decision making and leadership. Eldora has a small core of 35 professional patrollers and approximately 30 National Ski Patrol Volunteers.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Works within the Mountain Operations and Resort Management teams to execute daily operations, common goals, planning, and future initiatives of ski patrol and mountain safety. Assist in management of both Ski Patrol and Mountain Safety staff. Including independent ability to evaluate, schedule, discipline, decide and assign tasks to staff and make recommendations regarding hiring and termination.
Works alongside Ski Patrol Director and other stakeholders to formulate, determine and implement department and company policies regarding Patrol operations, guest safety, worker health and safety and risk management.
Provide oversight and ensure compliance with Colorado statues and Eldora policies.
Conduct or facilitate staff training in all aspects of ski patrol knowledge and skill set.
Model safe, efficient and competent knowledge and skills in daily patrol tasks.
Avalanche hazard reduction responsibilities include forecasting, hazard mitigation, education, rescue, and explosives oversight.
Effectively fulfill necessary responsibilities and maintain operational standards during periods when the Ski Patrol Director is unavailable.
Offseason duties may include equipment and facilities maintenance, Patrol, Mountain Safety, or other department training, or other duties as assigned.
Passionate about supporting Eldora’s “Play Forever” initiative, promoting environmental protection, and community engagement.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Specific Job Skills:
Minimum 2 years Ski Patrol Supervisory experience.
Minimum 5 years Ski Patrol experience.
Valid EMT-B, OEC or above -- required
A3 Pro 1 or higher -- required
Ability to obtain ATF Employee Possessor clearance -- required
Experience teaching fundamental Ski Patrol skills, including first aid in an austere environment.
Demonstrated experience with risk management, with an emphasis on CSSA compliance and incident documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to clearly convey information, instructions, and feedback to team members, guests, and stakeholders under dynamic and high-pressure conditions.
Has valid US Driver’s License.
Ability to meet company standards for MVR and Background check.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,384.61 -- $2,692.30 biweekly amount, depending on experience.
