About Us:
River & Trail Outfitters has been leading outdoor adventures since 1972. We're excited to bring our experience to Nature Camps designed for kids and teens to explore the outdoors, build confidence, and develop leadership skills.

Job Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counselors to lead campers ages 7-12 and 13-15 through a variety of outdoor and educational activities. You'll play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience rooted in nature, adventure, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead age-appropriate outdoor activities including:

    • Swimming

    • River tubing, rafting, canoeing, and kayaking

    • Biking, hiking, and survival hikes

    • Nature-based art & ecology lessons

    • Team-building games and leadership workshops

    • Historical scavenger hunts and nature field trips

  • Provide safety oversight and instruction for all activities

  • Incorporate nature education, ecology, and leadership development into daily programming

  • Maintain a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment

  • Supervise and engage with children and teens in arts & crafts, sports, games, and songs

  • Participate in weekly themed camps and contribute creatively

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to drive a van

  • Must pass a background check

  • Previous experience working with children or in outdoor education is preferred

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and participate in physical activities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
