Key Responsibilities
· Partner closely with Stanley PD team on existing and new CMF projects. Provide input from engineering aspect to guide PD team on manufacturing process and raw material selections.
· Partner closely with Stanley Sourcing / Quality team and together lead critical milestone events such as SRF (Sample request form), Color Approval, Pilot-Production and Mass-Production. Identify issues and lead trouble shoot activities in factory side.
· Partner closely with Stanley sourcing team to engage and train the manufacturing partners on industry best engineering practices for CMF application in Hard Goods.
· Collect innovative ideas about new CMF technology initiatives from all T1 factories. Summarize information and review rating result with steering team, providing inputs for quarterly QBR review.
· Review color samples effectively in manufacturing side and drive the alignment with US team through standard color measuring & approval processes.
· Support quality team to define color testing standard, protocol, SOP and equipment.
· Support SEA factories to setup local CMF capabilities according to Stanley’s requirements.
· Attend regular meetings with cross functional teams and be able to provide updates, relay actions and improvements made, and point out risks and plans to offset.
Skills and Experience
· Engineering background with experience in CMF decoration on Metal/Plastic surfaces.
· Working knowledge of Six sigma methodology preferred.
· Expert with CMF decoration technologies and manufacturing processes including painting, powder coating, PVD, water decal, silk printing, laser engraving and even multiple technologies combination.
· Knowledge of PFAS / TF Free material identification, standard, performance testing and implementation. Sourcing experience will be a plus.
· Excellent onsite experience to do trouble shooting for any CMF related issues in factories
· Strong understanding of typical NPD processes (PD, Tooling rounds, Pilot Production) to independently drive color sample making, testing, verification and approval.
· ~100% score on the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test
· Experience reviewing consumer product for color on multiple materials.
· Ability to understand color theory and adjust with comments to suppliers as needed.
· Strong communication skills - written, spoken, listening in English. Chinese will be a plus.
· Out of the box thinker, yet analytical and with a bias for process.
· Strong planning & implementation skills, adherence to timelines a must.
· Ability to influence to gain the best outcome for Stanley products.
· Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or above, major in Engineering Discipline, preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in Hard goods engineering for a consumer goods brand with global reach.
· Solid experience of technical writing, documentation and presentation
· Confidence working with, and presenting to internal and external clients
· Direct experience communicating directly with factories
· Travel 30%~50%
