Field Test Manager

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly organized and passionate Field Test Manager to lead the global field-testing program for Specialized e-bikes. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing our international test fleet and ensuring that every new e-bike delivers an exceptional ride experience before reaching the market. You’ll coordinate logistics, oversee test riders, and ensure all field testing is completed to specification, on time, and with clear feedback. Your work will be instrumental in validating product performance and ensuring real-world issues are identified and resolved early in the development cycle.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Test Fleet Management

  • Define the scope, quantity, and timeline for global field-testing programs
  • Oversee the ordering and timely delivery of bikes, spare parts, and prototype components
  • Organize global transportation, setup, and teardown of test fleets
  • Plan and schedule maintenance to ensure all test bikes are in top condition
  • Coordinate priorities and workflows with internal workshops
  • Maintain and communicate a rolling 12-month test fleet plan


Field Tester Coordination

  • Identify and recruit qualified internal and external test riders
  • Define clear test objectives and ensure riders meet performance and feedback expectations
  • Serve as the primary interface between test riders and product development teams
  • Coordinate testing activities across multiple international locations

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • A strong passion for cycling, e-bikes, or the active outdoor lifestyle
  • In-depth mechanical knowledge of bicycles; experience with e-bikes or e-mobility systems is a plus
  • 3–5 years of hands-on workshop experience, preferably in bike mechanics or a related technical field
  • 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is highly desirable
  • Strong project and task planning skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Working knowledge of inventory management and workshop safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Jira, Confluence, or other change management tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); German or other European languages are a bonus
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%
