Pay Rate: First or second season of professional fly fishing will be compensated 30% of the untaxed guest payment. Third or fourth season of professional fly fishing will be be compensated 35% of the untaxed guest payment. 5th or more season of professional fly fishing will be compensated 40% of the untaxed guest payment. You will also receive 10% from fishing retail sales that you assist with. A season is defined as 3 or more months of full-time work in a calendar year. Previous seasons not with AVA will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

• Hourly Work: Any hourly work will be compensated at $15.00/hour

You should be passionate about setting the bar in our industry of safety, respect, and innovation while holding yourself to the highest personal standards with integrity. 

Job Description:

• Run both walk & wade and river float fishing trips as needed
  
• Rig vessels, pack appropriate tackle and rig gear
• Drive a van with trailer to the river
• Teach guests casting skills, line management skills, and proper fish handling techniques
• Conduct safety orientation for guests
• Treat guests respectfully and engage them in conversation to maximize guest experience
• Demonstrate proper boat handling techniques
• Work outdoors for long days in diverse weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

• Experienced fly fisher  -professional experience (required)
• Whitewater Rowing experience (required)
• Enjoy working with guests
• Demonstrate knowledge of river and insect morphology
• Possess a high level of knowledge in fly fishing tackle and how to use it  
• Safety-oriented  
• Able to provide informative, educational, and exciting direction to guests
