International Travel Coordinator
This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office 3 days per week, you must live within a commutable distance.

Destination Sport Experiences, through its’ global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel , Sportive Breaks ad Tri Travel caters for those who want to participate in the very best cycling, running and triathlon events across the world. Marathon Tours & Travel, Sportive Breaks and Tri Travel offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons, cycling events, and long-distance triathlons around the world, together with VIP hospitality access to many of the top professional cycling events as well as managing travel programs for mass participation events.

Due to an exciting year of growth, we are now looking to add an International Travel Coordinator to join our Boston Marathon Tours & Travel team. International Travel Coordinators are responsible for creating, selling and hosting marathon events globally. This challenging position is perfect for a client centric travel professional experienced in international travel, with the ability to be a proactive and collaborative team member. A passion for and experience in endurance sports, specifically running, cycling and/or triathlon events, is not required but is an added positive.


This is a varied, hands on role and on a typical day you will:

  • Plan and take ownership of the operational delivery of allocated events starting from initial planning through to execution and post event analysis

  • Assist with price & contract negotiation with suppliers 

  • Prepare the pre-departure information

  • Liaise with hotels, transport companies, event organisers and other external suppliers

  • Manage the product and ensure the information on the website is accurate and up to date

  • Constantly monitor the sales position and suggest appropriate course of action depending upon the position

  • Communicate with customers on the phone and by email, converting inquiries into sales

  • Be the voice of Marathon Tours & Travel - answer customer questions on the phone, in email and when onsite hosting events

  • Work closely with our internal Marketing teams to promote events

  • Develop new product for new or existing events

Job requirements

To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:

  • Have international travel knowledge & experience

  • Have a passion for endurance sports such as marathons (not essential but would be highly advantageous)

  • Have a working knowledge of marketing & sales of travel packages

  • Have experience with on-site logistic planning & client hosting

  • Be confident in taking ownership of their event from initial planning through to execution and post event analysis

  • Have experience with inbound partners &/or Destination Management Companies (DMC) including tour package development & pricing negotiation.

  • Be organized, detail orientated & have the ability to work on multiple projects.

  • Possess strong client-service and vendor management orientation along with solid interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills

  • Have the ability to professionally and effectively represent Marathon Tours & Travel on the phone, in face-to-face interaction and be comfortable with public speaking

  • Work as a team player to establish business processes and meet team goals.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel & Outlook),

  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally, when required
