Description

Job Purpose: The Media & Communications Coordinator supports the execution of PR, digital content, social media, and dealer communications to strengthen CZ’s brand presence within the firearms and tactical industry. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to manage press outreach, influencer coordination, and content distribution—ensuring all messaging is consistent, compliant, and aligned with CZ’s mission to engage and grow its 2A-focused audience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Public Relations & Communications

  • Draft and distribute press releases to firearms and outdoor industry outlets (e.g., Guns & Ammo, Recoil, TFB, TTAG).
  • Build and maintain relationships with gun media contacts, influencers, and content creators.
  • Manage media inquiries, press kits, and interview coordination for executives or product experts.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor announcements to inform media positioning.

Content & Media Coordination

  • Assist with planning and distributing product launch materials, including videos, photos, and marketing copy.
  • Coordinate influencer seeding and T&E product requests with media partners.
  • Track content usage, coverage, and mentions across YouTube, Rumble, social, and blogs.
  • Maintain an organized media asset library, brand guidelines, and content calendar.

Social & Digital Communication

  • Support day-to-day management of social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Rumble, etc.) with a strong understanding of platform compliance (e.g., restricted product policies).
  • Draft and schedule posts that align with campaigns, launches, and industry events.
  • Respond to community comments and messages in a brand-safe, respectful voice.
  • Report on social performance metrics and trends.

Internal & Dealer Communication

  • Create and distribute dealer communications (product announcements, promotions, assets).
  • Support development of internal newsletters or communication materials for reps and retail partners.
  • Collaborate with customer service and product teams to ensure messaging accuracy.

Other

  • Thorough understanding of firearm mechanics, operations, and safety protocol
  • Proficiency in industry-standard terminology and nomenclature
  • Must be able to enthusiastically represent firearms products without ethical conflict for the purposes of law enforcement, self-defense, competition and hunting (both subsistence and trophy).
  • Maintain personal and professional networks as appropriate for your position.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Timely and regular attendance is required to ensure work flow is not interrupted.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist all employees in department in completing their work when necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Equivalent work experience in the firearms, outdoor, or tactical industry may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Additional coursework or certifications in digital marketing, media relations, or content strategy is a plus

Required Experience & Skills

 

  • 2+ years of experience in PR, communications, or marketing (firearms/outdoor industry preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with gun-related media outlets, influencers, and industry culture
  • Experience managing content or social platforms with restricted content guidelines
  • Basic understanding of firearms and accessories (AR/AK platforms, optics, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite; bonus: experience with email marketing platforms and CMS tools
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi task, effectively manage time and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must be punctual, meticulous and reliable.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with compliance-sensitive content (ATF, ITAR)
  • Background in journalism, digital media, or public relations
  • Exposure to SHOT Show, NRAAM, or similar events
  • Photography or videography skills a plus
  • Firearms industry experience in retail, distribution or brand level is an advantage. 
  • Multilingual abilities is a plus

  • Less than 5% of time

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to legally possess firearms under applicable laws.
  • Must know basic firearms safety.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background test and drug test.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
