Nature Camp Counselor (Seasonal)

Are you ideal for working as a Nature Camp Counselor at the Leawood Nature Center?

• Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent?
• Are you 18 years of age OR older?
• Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
• Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
• Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
• Do you have experience working with elementary-aged children?

As the Nature Camp Counselor, you will work:

• Approximately 25 hours per week between 8 am and 1 pm.
• Weekdays and weekends
• Camps will be held from the middle of June through the end of July.

A few of the things you will be doing include:

• Assists the Nature Camp Director and Nature Education Coordinator in presenting educational programs for campers that focus on nature. These programs may include, but are not limited to, nature-based activities, nature hikes, playing with animals, and learning about plants.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating camper records, including but not limited to attendance, consent forms, and emergency forms.
• Responsible for maintaining order and discipline amongst campers, always safeguarding their health and safety while the camper participates in camp activities.
