Oklahoma State Park Rangers are assigned patrol duties (all aspects) within Oklahoma State Parks, resort grounds, and other state properties. Oklahoma State Park Rangers regularly work with other area State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. The primary focus of a Park Ranger is the enforcement of Oklahoma state traffic and criminal laws, Federal law, and Park Rules and Regulations.
Oklahoma State Park Rangers are provided excellent training, both in-house and through other approved outlets and agencies. Park Rangers must complete the in-house Field Training Officer Program and serve a one-year probationary period.
This is the leadership level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities for providing leadership to other park rangers as well as patrolling all areas of a park or resort to insure the security of property and individuals. Responsibilities may also include investigating major crimes and coordinating park ranger activities with those of other law enforcement agencies within the assigned area. May assist with budget preparation and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
