PR Specialist

Summary

The Specialized PR Team sets the standard for top tier communications strategy, messaging and media management. The Global PR Specialist will lead the public relations strategy, collaborate on messaging and storyline development, and execute to get coverage on new product or campaigns. This role is focused on creating consistency and building momentum for earned storytelling in partnership with our worldwide markets.

The PR Specialist will report to the Global Leader of PR & Media Relations, with daily and direct support across global marketing team functions. As a global team, we’ll continue to evaluate new ways to build awareness and create momentum for Specialized within media.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Leader of PR and Media Relationships to drive necessary business priorities through media coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with territory PR leads for global support as needed on product launches or campaign frequency marketing
  • Own seeding and product conversations with globally influential media ahead of product releases
  • Support PR events team with product ordering, NDA management, organizing and tracking shipping of event supplies and onsite support when needed.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with a variety of internal teams
  • Outlining and driving necessary asset creation to provide media with the highest quality of information
  • Work with product and marketing stakeholders to identify goals and objectives for PR and ensure these are being hit.
  • Co- manage contracted PR agencies to guide their efforts that align to Specialized business goals.
  • Oversee product seeding to editors and the timely delivery of bikes/equipment

  • Able to adapt quickly with ambiguity and effectively prioritize multiple projects.
  • Thrives on being detail oriented, hitting deadlines, and exceeding expectations to deliver high quality experiences that will make an impact for the business.
  • Respect and understanding of unreleased products/services and working under embargo
  • Crisis communication management and ability to jump in to protect the brand reputation at any time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (events, PR, communication, etc.)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in Atlassian Confluence and JIRA

PAY

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:

California Base Pay Range: ($55,228 - $91,126)

*At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
