Revenue Planning and Inventory Management
Plan, build, and monitor inventory levels for assigned regions and travel products, ensuring alignment with company sales forecasts and operational constraints.
Implement and adjust inventory management strategies, including discounting and product release pacing, to achieve performance targets set by the company.
Maintain oversight of risk inventory (e.g. boats, overland vehicles) by coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to maximize utilization and minimize loss.
Conduct regular audits of inventory data to ensure system accuracy and flag any discrepancies or data integrity issues to relevant teams.
Monitor overbookings, underutilized departures, and product gaps in assigned regions, recommending adjustments to optimize load factors and minimize financial risk.
Pricing Strategy and Profitability Analysis
Establish pricing strategies for assigned products using detailed cost data from contracting teams, competitor benchmarking, and commercial input.
Conduct regular reviews of trip-level and regional profitability, using reporting tools and data analysis to track performance against financial targets.
Identify and act upon trends or anomalies in product costing, revenue, and gross margin to maximize profitability and competitiveness.
Develop and implement pricing and yield management procedures that support long-term profitability and efficient inventory use.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with regional Product and Operations teams to identify opportunities or risks impacting profitability, such as cost shifts, capacity constraints, or demand surges.
Work closely with Sales and Marketing to inform and support promotional strategies that align with revenue goals and market dynamics.
Build strong interdepartmental relationships to support product initiatives and ensure alignment of priorities across departments.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Utilize advanced reporting tools to analyze trends, identify risks or opportunities, and drive actions that improve gross margins and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and present revenue management insights in a clear, structured format for a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of reporting tools and processes to enhance the accuracy and accessibility of profitability and inventory data.
Perform ad hoc analysis in response to emerging business questions, providing actionable insights based on sales, booking pace, discount effectiveness, and regional performance.
Support month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles with accurate, timely revenue data and variance explanations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Represent the Revenue Management function in meetings and planning sessions, effectively communicating department priorities and data-driven insights.
Deliver presentations tailored to diverse audiences to explain pricing, performance, and inventory strategies.
Ensure clear, timely, and effective communication of pricing and inventory decisions to relevant internal teams.
Respond to stakeholder inquiries regarding trip performance, pricing accuracy, or margin expectations, offering data-backed insights and resolutions.
Teamwork and Cultural Contribution
Demonstrate a positive, solutions-focused attitude and contribute to team morale and productivity through collaboration and mutual support.
Participate actively in team and cross-functional meetings, work functions, and virtual company events to build relationships and stay informed on company initiatives.
Support other team members during peak times or in the absence of key personnel, reinforcing a strong team culture.
Support the delivery of travel style–specific training within the region, contributing subject matter expertise and insights into product performance and pricing
