As an RF Engineer at WHOOP, you will be a member of the Electrical Engineering team and work with the cross-functional teams developing and supporting cutting-edge wearable technologies. You will help support all RF and wireless functions on the team, including RF and antenna design, component selection, system integration, RF performance validation, and regulatory certifications. You will regularly interface with internal engineering teams, external vendors and suppliers, testing and certification bodies, and contract manufacturers (CMs) to deliver exceptional product performance, safety, and reliability. You bring a solid understanding of RF concepts and best practices, along with the communication skills needed to collaborate effectively across disciplines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:- Conduct hands-on validation, analysis, and debugging of RF systems using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, and oscilloscopes.
- Perform circuit simulation and mathematical analysis using SPICE, HFSS, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Work in a highly cross-functional environment with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver fully validated RF systems.
- Define RF hardware test requirements and design test systems for in-house performance evaluation as well as production manufacturing test.
- Provide technical support for certification testing against wireless standards such as FCC Part 15, CISPR 11, EN 55035, and Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
- Guide RF-critical schematic and layout design in partnership with the Electrical Engineering team.
- Support research and development of next generation features, technologies, and manufacturing techniques that enable different form factors and feature expansion.
- Travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally (North America, Asia, Europe).
QUALIFICATIONS:- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in relevant RF or wireless engineering.
- Experience working with RF communication systems, including antenna integration, system-level RF performance optimization, conducted/radiated testing and desense mitigation.
- Solid grasp of RF and electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, component fundamentals, PCB layout, and digital communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and calibration tools.
- Experience with EM simulation software such as CST and HFSS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
