JOB DESCRIPTION: SALESPERSON

Location: Specialized Bicycles (South Africa) Tygerberg Retail Store

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Store Manager

Job Overview

A motivated and customer-focused individual to join our dynamic team in the bicycle retail industry. You have a passion for cycling, strong interpersonal skills, and a drive to deliver excellent customer service. You will be responsible for assisting customers, driving sales, and ensuring a positive in-store experience. You’ll need to live and breathe our core values – “The Rider is the Boss’’.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers with product selection based on their needs and preferences
  • Provide expert advice on bicycles, accessories, and cycling gear
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system
  • Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business

Product Knowledge & Demonstration

  • Stay up to date with the latest bicycle models, components, and trends
  • Demonstrate product features and benefits to customers
  • Assist with test rides and basic bike setup

Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Ensure products are well-displayed, clean, and correctly priced
  • Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining visual merchandising standards

Inventory Support

  • Help with receiving and unpacking stock
  • Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to management

Administrative Support

  • Assist with customer orders, quotes, and follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate sales records and customer information

Requirements

  • Previous retail or sales experience preferred (cycling industry a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and customer-oriented
  • Basic computer skills (POS systems, email, etc.)
  • Interest in cycling and willingness to learn technical product details
