Your Job:

The Brooks Creative team imagines/designs/curates/manifests creative concepts, campaigns, and assets that define and express the Brooks brand. Web, digital, events, print, retail, packaging—even porta potties— are our canvas and runners are our inspiration. Our growing team seeks an Art Director – Image and Video to lead, concept, plan and be on location for our lifestyle, editorial and brand content related photography and video projects.  

 

As Senior Designer, Art Direction you’ll bring your creative vision, energy, and runner insight to make Brooks the brand runners love.  You are ready to drive any project that comes your way, from concept development, video, and photo art direction, shot and story board planning, to on-set creative leadership and collaborating with partners in retouching, video editing/color and motion graphics. 

 

As the Senior Designer, Art Direction – Image and Video, you will translate business and marketing goals into compelling, insight driven photography and video assets to be used across the various marketing and creative platforms.  You will be well versed at orchestrating brand, editorial, concept exploration, art direction, and the craft of visual storytelling to create an exceptional experience that achieves results. Your visual range must have the elasticity to stretch across asset creation for multiple platforms including editorial, ecommerce, social, CRM, media, print and retail. You will play an essential role in expressing the visual ethos of the Brooks brand, drawing on customer insight for inspiration and talent for execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, along with Art Direction Manager, video and image art direction from pre/post-production, including concept art direction, story boards, location and talent choices, on-set lead, image and video editing, crop recommendations, music selection, application of motion graphics and final color
  • Partner closely with the Art Direction Manager to help establish best-in-class standards across all image mediums
  • Partner with other leaders and team members at Brooks with your deep understanding of what drives the brand, business, and products that help impact your creative art direction
  • Lead workflow improvements and efficiencies that enable the team to develop best in class video and photography
  • Develop concepts, storyboards, and visual art direction that impact the business and influence the greater organization
  • A leader and brand ambassador on-set leading creative and ensuring that image and video assets are captured to plan while staying within shoot constraints
  • Responsible for maintaining brand continuity when working with freelance creative partners (photographers, videographers, retouchers, production agencies, motion graphics designers and producers), and internal associate art directors/designers
  • Trusted to work highly independently while proactively keeping the Art Direction Manager informed about progress, changes, and creative decisions
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Your leadership and presentation skills around all things Art Direction for Image and Video help drive change and evolve the brand, business, and products 
  • Highly innovative and takes strong interest in projects. You are always willing to creative problem solve, talk shop, ask questions, speak up, have a point of view, think strategically, champion the importance of detail, have fun, wear many hats, roll up your sleeves, and cultivate optimism 


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience art directing photographers, video directors, and creative production agencies
  • An online portfolio demonstrating world class image and video excellence in active/lifestyle with major consumer brands is required. Please add your online portfolio link at the top of your resume when applying
  • Experience within an agency or in-house creative team, with proven leadership
  • Proficient in Figma, InDesign, Photoshop, CaptureOne, and Illustrator
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust and effective working relationships
  • Fast and efficient, with proven project/time management skills; committed to meeting deadlines
  • Able to work both independently within a team environment, and collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve necessary results

Compensation: 

The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $96,358- $144,538 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
