Senior Product Manager, Road & Gravel

As a Senior Product Manager for Road & Gravel , you will lead with vision, empathy, and relentless drive—translating the voice of riders into innovative, high-performance products that define the future of Road & Gravel cycling. In this role, you’ll champion the Road & Gravel category from concept to launch, shaping the product line with a forward-thinking mindset and a commitment to excellence that inspires those around you.

How you’ll make a difference.

  • Demonstrated Leadership: Serve as a voice for Road & Gravel, driving category strategy from concept through launch.
  • Rider Insights: Gather global rider feedback and translate insights into product briefs and strategies.
  • Product Line Management: Build and maintain a product line vision that meets rider needs, business objectives, and brand goals.
  • Profitability & Pricing: Partner with finance and sales to establish pricing strategies, maximize margins, and meet financial targets.
  • Product Specifications: Own product specifications, costs, and timelines; ensure alignment with GTM plans and internal systems.
  • Innovation Roadmap: Collaborate with engineers and designers to define the innovation pipeline and explore new concepts.
  • Trend Leadership: Stay ahead of style, performance, and functionality trends in road and gravel cycling.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the category champion—connecting athletes, retailers, sales teams, and executives.
  • Colors & Graphics: Partner with Design to deliver world-class graphics and limited-edition designs.
  • Go-to-Market: Work closely with marketing and Rider Promise teams to create compelling storytelling and ensure on-time delivery.

  • Presentation Skills: Expertise in building and delivering presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Rider-Centric Mindset: Passion for cycling and performance; ability to turn rider feedback into actionable product improvements.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to align and inspire cross-functional teams toward a shared goal.
  • Analytical & Systems Skills: Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office knowledge; ability to learn PLM systems (e.g., Flex).
  • Adaptability: Willingness to travel (20%, domestic and international) to meet riders and vendors.
  • Curiosity & Collaboration: A humble, curious mindset with a drive for real innovation.
  • Resilience: Ability to navigate ambiguity and stay focused on delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or a related function.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
  • 2+ years in the sporting goods or cycling industry (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of retail strategies and product line structure.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including foams, plastics, and additive technologies.
  • Experience managing development timelines and coordinating with global vendors.

PAY

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:

California Base Pay Range: $86,000 -141,000

At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
