Position Title: Ski School Instructor Level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Department: Ski School
Reports To: Director of Ski School
Status: Full-time or Part-time Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Working Hours: Varied hours/shifts, fluctuates with time of season, weekends and holidays typical
Wage Range: $17.00 - $23.00 – plus weekly incentives

Position Summary: Introduce and develop a passion of snow sports to resort guests. Requires exceptional people skills with an amazing ability to teach and develop both beginner and advanced ski or snowboarding skills, while providing a supportive and safe environment for guests and staff alike.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Wisp Resort is a four-season ski, golf and recreational destination resort. Because of the nature of the resort business, employees may be asked to perform other duties outside of the job description. Also, hours of operation are 24/7 including weekends and holidays.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 1 – NE01
• Teach lessons as assigned according to skill and certification level.
• Assist other instructors as required.
• Provide information on snow sports programs, be a source of information for all resort programs.
• Develop and improve teaching and riding skills. Attend all mandatory training sessions.
• Assists with opening and closing procedures of the learning area, and maintains a safe learning area.
• Exhibits a desire to work with and relate to children, parents, guests and employees.
• Exhibits ability to take initiative, be highly organized, communicate effectively and manage groups.
• Works well with a team, as well as independently and exhibits ability to be a good role model with high integrity and adaptability.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 2 – NE02
• All duties and responsibilities of Level 1 Ski School Instructor.
• Provide guidance and be able to mentor Level 1 Ski School Instructors.
• Provide assistance to Level 1 Ski School Instructors who may need help with their group.
• Provide information on snow sports programs, be a source of information for all resort programs.
• Continue to develop and improve teaching and riding skills. Attend training sessions.
• Assists with opening and closing procedures of the learning area, and maintains a safe learning area.
• Work on personal PSIA or AASI certification levels.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 3 – NE03
• All duties and responsibilities of Level 1 and 2 Ski School Instructor.
• Have PSIA or ASSI certification level 1 and continue to work on further levels.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 4 – NE04
• All duties and responsibilities of Level 1, 2 and 3 Ski School Instructor.
• Have PSIA or AASI certification level 2 and continue to work on further levels.
• Participate in training of Level 1, 2 and 3 Ski School Instructors.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 5 – NE05
• All duties and responsibilities of Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Ski School Instructor.
• Have PSIA certification level 3 and continue to work on further levels.
• Participate in training of Level 1,2,3 and 4 Ski School Instructors.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience teaching in a resort environment ideal
Language Skills:
• Basic English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• First Aid Certificate
• Background Check
• Finger Print may be required
• PSIA/AASI levels optional
