Job Location: Academy at Biltmore Church - Arden, NC  

Position Type: Summer position from June 9 -August 22; 

Full-time and part-time opportunities available


Summary of Position: We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and faith-filled individuals to serve as Summer Camp Counselors for our 9-week summer program. Counselors will be key leaders in creating a safe, fun, and spiritually enriching environment for children. This role involves supervising campers, leading activities, modeling Christian values, and building strong, supportive relationships with both campers and fellow staff.

Essential Qualities and Qualifications:

  • A personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ modeled by a commitment to supporting the vision, leadership and beliefs of Biltmore Church.

  •  A Christ-like testimony that is displayed inside and outside the workplace.

  • An expressed passion and calling for serving Jesus in a Kingdom-minded, fast-paced, local church setting. 

  • Active involvement and membership in a local Bible teaching, Gospel centered church that aligns with the mission and values of Biltmore Church. 

  • Demonstrates initiative with an ability to work effectively apart from close supervision.

  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication. 

  • Highly organized, team-player, fast learner, committed to excellence

  • Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to commit to the full camp season, including training sessions.

  • Prior experience in a childcare, camp, or youth ministry setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.

  • Lead and assist in daily camp activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and team-building exercises.

  • Serve as a positive role model through words, actions, and attitudes.

  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and joyful environment where each child feels valued and loved.

  • Manage behavior using age-appropriate and guidance strategies.

  • Collaborate with other counselors and staff to plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate programming.

  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, staff, and leadership.

  • Uphold camp policies and procedures, maintaining cleanliness and order in camp spaces.

  • Other duties as assigned.
