Employees in this position are responsible for the implementation and supervision of various summer programs and activities at various locations including the Reidsville Teen Center, Lake Reidsville, City of Reidsville Recreation Center, and neighborhood parks as well as on various field trips.

Essential Functions

  • This position works five days a week, a minimum of four hours per day. Hours may be longer on dates with field trips and special events.
  • Greets the public and answers questions in a friendly manner
  • Responds to inquiries from employees, customers and guest, or refers them to appropriate staff for further assistance
  • Assists in completion of paperwork such as accident/incident reports, daily activity reports, etc.
  • Cooperatively works with other staff to ensure a professional and enjoyable work environment
  • Perform daily cleaning/organization duties
  • Administers first aid to visitors, guests and other staff
  • Notify Maintenance of significant problems with equipment
  • Additional duties as assigned or requested
Important Functions
  • Must enjoy young children and be able to engage and entertain them between programming.
  • Provides high quality customer service by being friendly, tactful, courteous, maintains an alert and professional posture at all times (dress and hygiene)

  • 18 years of age or older, or have graduated from high school
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
Knowledge
  • General knowledge of early childhood development
  • General knowledge of what constitutes exemplary customer service

  • Ability toΒ serve as a role model for participants and staff
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions and communicate well both verbally and in writing
Abilities
  • Possess desired qualities such as diplomacy, trustworthiness, reliability, and diligence
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with youth,Β parents, park staff, community organization partners and the general public
  • Must be able to work under pressure and be willingΒ to diplomatically confront users not following park rules
  • Ability to pass a post-offer background check and drug screen

Working Environment
The work of this position will be exposed to outdoor hazards, including extremes in temperature, and significant weather events.
