Who We Are

Lad Lake is a COA-accredited, nonprofit, independent organization serving kids and families from across the state. We work with 1,200+ youth and their families through evidence-based, trauma-informed programs at three Southeastern Wisconsin campuses. Our mission is to guide growth, and diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the center of everything we do.

With a mission to help youth reach their potential and live responsibly, our dedicated staff focuses on building essential skills that empower students to overcome distractions and negative influences.

What a day in the life of a Summer Camp Counselor looks like:

  • Lead and participate in a variety of fun activities, including sports, storytelling, drama, games, and field trips.
  • Be a role model by demonstrating and reinforcing appropriate behavior.
  • Create a safe and positive environment where campers can grow, learn, and have fun.
  • Monitor and supervise campers, ensuring continuous head counts and engagement.
  • Take appropriate steps to manage discipline challenges while promoting positive interactions.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with campers, staff, and families.
  • Ensure all activities align with Lad Lake’s mission, values, and policies.
  • Protecting our youth by honoring our privacy practices

What you bring to the table:

  • A Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and pass criminal and driving background checks.
  • Prior experience and/or education working with youth programs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with youth, families, and staff.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs and fully participate in camp activities.
  • Sound decision-making and mature judgment in high-energy environments.
  • Lifeguard certification and training in relational, sensory, anger, or behavioral management practices (highly desired).
  • Passion for mentoring and guiding youth in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Possess patience with a positive, confident approach, understanding & trauma-focused care, especially when things get rough
  • Celebrate different cultures, backgrounds, and abilities
