Group Overview 

Special Air Missions Group (SAM) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Special Mobility, and Aerial Firefighting (AFF) capabilities. SAM oversees the integration of new mission systems, ensuring operational readiness across specialized aviation operations. It manages fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships to enhance mission effectiveness. By consolidating expertise and infrastructure, SAM ensures Metrea’s airborne capabilities remain adaptable and mission-ready across dynamic operational environments.

Position Summary 

The Travel Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating complex domestic and international travel arrangements. This role requires a thorough understanding and application of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to ensure all travel is conducted in full compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

 

Role and Responsibilities 

 

  • Manage all aspects of domestic and international travel for Enterprise Teammates in compliance with FAR, JTR, and agency-specific policies.
  • Prepare and review travel authorizations, vouchers, and reimbursement packages.
  • Coordinate with travelers, leadership, and finance teams to ensure timely approvals and proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate travel records and generate travel reports for audits and management review.
  • Experience with federal travel systems (e.g., DTS, ConcurGov, E2 Solutions, D365) to process travel requests and expense claims.
  • Monitor travel budgets, flag discrepancies, and work closely with finance to ensure compliance and cost control.

Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in travel coordination within a federal contracting or government environment
  • Working knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), JTR, and FAR-compliant travel processes
  • Working knowledge of GSA based Travel Authorization Processes 
  • Familiarity with government travel systems (e.g., DTS, ConcurGov, E2)
  • 1–2 years of experience in a program analyst or administrative support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience supporting federal programs or working within a PMO
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Monday.com and other collaboration tools

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
  • A valid US Passport preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.  

Work Location

Hybrid (3 days in office per week). Tampa HQ will be the home office of record.

This job operates in an office setting. 

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for meetings or training.
