Location:
Pine Ridge Elementary, Bend, OR Status: Summer Seasonal: 35-40 hours/week
- Schedule: June 15th - August 21st, Monday - Friday, ~40 hours/week. Exact hours will vary week to week but will be between the hours of 7:15 am and 5:30 pm.

Program Overview:
SummerKids is a weekly theme-based day camp for youth in 1st through 6th grade. The camp is at Pine Ridge Elementary and can have 100+ youth each week, separated into individual groups of 8-12 kids of a similar age. The camp runs from 9 am-3:30 pm, with extended care options beginning as early as 7:30 am and ending by 5:30 pm.

Position Overview:
The SummerKids site lead provides Monday through Friday on-site operational leadership and program support for daily camp activities. This role works as the primary liaison between the Leadership Team and camp staff to ensure smooth daily operations, effective group management, guardian communication, youth safety, and consistent implementation of site procedures. The Site Lead supports program staff, responds to daily logistical needs, supports Behavior + Inclusion Specialist as needed, and serves as the lead for daily schedules, procedures, and special programming. In the absence of the Camp Director, the Site Lead may assume additional leadership responsibilities to maintain program continuity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support daily site operations, including opening and closing the facility, site readiness and cleanliness, and monitoring program communications (e.g., communication with site maintenance staff)
- Assist with camper group creation and counselor assignments in coordination with the Leadership team
- Provide on-site staff coverage as needed, including substituting as a counselor, covering breaks, and supporting quiet or transition activities
- Monitor camper behavior, communicate concerns to the Behavior and Inclusion Specialist, and document injury incidents in end-of-day reports
- Support youth and staff use of the Zen Zone
- Lead and coordinate special programming (e.g., Water Wednesday, guest speaker, and field trip preparation)
- Support daily drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure smooth transitions
Supervise Junior Counselors and communicate as needed with the Teen Program Coordinator Assume additional Camp Director responsibilities in the Director’s absence Additional duties as required

- Leadership Skills: Including strong oral and written communication skills, ability to manage program staff members with the help of the leadership team, collaborate with others, and motivate team members, willing to take initiative, provide feedback and suggestions, and ask for help when needed
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field (Ex: education, or a related field); or 2+ years experience managing, planning and executing site coordination, programs or events; or equivalent combination of education and experience.:
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Valid Driver’s License, CPR/First Aid certification Physical Demands: Employee will be walking, standing, running, bending, crouching or stooping. Employee will occasionally lift light and heavy objects. For some programs, employee must be able to spend the majority of time on their feet, outdoors, and tolerate a variety of weather conditions.
Compensation: $21.50 - $23.50 /hour depending on experience.
Benefits: Free programs for dependents, $50 referral bonus per additional staff recruit, 1 paid and scheduled mental health day.
