JOB SUMMARY:
This is a seasonal position. Supervises and implements the day camp program for children 5 – 15 years old.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the implementation of day camp activities throughout the duration of the day camp program including arts & crafts, inside & outside games, field trips and any other activities related to day camp
- Assume other responsibilities within the scope of the position as assigned by the Camp Coordinator/Program Coordinator
- Adhere to all housekeeping and safety standards and see that these standards are not violated by participants
- Make innovative suggestions for programs, problems and inefficiencies
- Handle complaints from youth, parents and the public
- Encourage/enforce proper conduct of participants
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 16 years old at the beginning of the season (Memorial Day).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work with children of all ages
- Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and the public
- Ability to have neat appearance
- Willingness to relate to children of all ages on their level in a positive manner
- Willingness to take directors from supervisor
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires certification in CPR, and First Aid (city sponsored.) A valid Georgia Driver’s License is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is medium and requires crouching, hearing, lifting, speaking, talking, visual acuity and walking.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Incumbent works in both in indoor and outdoor environment during summer months. Exposed to outside noises.
