Job Description
The Seasonal Coordinator of Summer Camp is responsible for the operations and implementation of OSC Summer Camp. The Coordinator is directly responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality control of all camp programming and demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills. The Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Summer Camp program, with emphasis on daily operations and scheduling to ensure quality control.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for daily coordination of counselors, instructors, and volunteers.
- Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures, including early care and/or late care.
- Responsible for caregiver communication to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for implementing safety rules and compliance to the OSC camper behavior policy.
- Able to apply problem solving skills and demonstrate good judgment to complete project tasks.
- Able to apply appropriate policies/procedures, enforce safety regulations, and respond quickly to critical incidents and emergencies.
- Organizes the ordering and delivering of lunches and snacks, including operations of lunch time and recess.
- Assists in gathering supplies and printed materials needed for Camp classrooms and overall camp operations.
- Assists in organizing documentation including attendance, medication, incident reports, lunch, and snack lists.
- Demonstrates commitment to OSC's vision, mission, and values.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Candidates should be degree-seeking or hold a bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field.
- Experience & Certifications: Experience teaching informally or in a classroom, customer service, or coordinating/teaching at a summer camp program. Experience working with children and youth. Candidates will have to pass a background check and be able to sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character as per the American Camp Association (ACA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in camp program operations or management with exemplary customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in a museum or other informal education environment with a background in youth programs.

- Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 25 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
- This position is seasonal (May4th– August7th) and primarily works Monday – Friday. Summer Camp staff will also be expected to attend mandatory camp training from May18th–21st(evening training).
Telecommuting This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
