Summer Camp Coordinator Job Description
Under the supervision of the Summer Camp Manager, the Summer Camp Coordinator will assist in the overall administration and oversight of the summer camp program. The major responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Personnel orientation, evaluation, scheduling and management
- Create and coordinate summer camp program schedules and activities
Continual evaluation of programs and resources
- Maintain accurate program records and logs
- Ensure the security and safety of camp grounds, facilities, and program equipment associated with the summer camp program
- Coordinate with other department employees and managers as needed
Disseminate all pertinent information to department employees Ongoing communication with the Summer Camp Manager for policy and standards direction, departmental development and relevant business Inventory and request equipment acquisitions as needed
- Provide positive public relations on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch and serve as the liaison between the Ranch and client groups
- Communicate and coordinate with Camper parents/guardians
- Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies and accreditation standards
Other duties as assigned Job Requirements 21 years of age or older Exhibit the ability to work well within the Pathfinder Ranch organization and with other employees Must be self-motivated and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner Previous work experience within an organized camp, outdoor education program or similar setting
Must be proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) Able to effectively supervise staff Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle Must reside on camp property and be on call during program sessions
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and evenings Hold and maintain the following certifications issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association: First Aid, Adult & Child CPR (alternative nationally recognized provider may be accepted if at least 50% of the course is conducted in-person with a practical skills session).
Physical Requirements Sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds of weight; to walk long distances on a variety of terrain; to perform duties while outdoors and exposed to a variety of weather conditions; to work at heights of up to 50’ above the ground; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

Compensation:
Full-time $716.00 - $836.00 per week (pro-rated during part-time period: 10 hours per week) Housing Paid Time Off (after 30 days) Health insurance options for those working multiple season
