    • Responsible for the overall safety and well-being of campers at the park or during off-site field trips.

    As a Resident Camp Counselor, you’ll make a significant contribution to our overall camper

    experience:

    by engaging and leading campers during operations of the camp programs; and create a fun and safe environment for both campers and staff. Please note: At this time we are not accepting J-1 Visa students and do not sponsor visas at our park. All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of their interview and will be required to provide proof of work authorization upon hire.

    This position will start on May 26 (includes training). To be considered for this position, applicants will need to be fully available throughout the duration of the program **If offered a position, ambassadors will be required to live on property.

    • helping to inspire them to learn more

    marine life. During every camp day you will: Engage directly with campers ages 10-18 years old through

    education:

    al activities such as songs, crafts, and games.

    • Lead a group of 8 campers or co-lead a group of 18 campers as they explore the park including going on the rides and attending the shows alongside them, and as they participate in offsite field trips Sleep in the on-sight dormitory cabin rooms to supervise campers overnight.
    • Collaborate with co-counselor(s) and leadership to implement behavioral management strategies to support campers.

    Teach the designed curriculum focusing on age-appropriate topics such as animal classification, husbandry care, zoological careers, and conservation messaging.

    • Build rapport with campers and their guardians, fostering positive summer memories at every

    opportunity:

    including during meals, check in/out, and airport pick up/drop off.

    • Assist campers with navigating inter-personal relationships and interactions.
    • Support other counselors and SeaWorld team members involved in the program, assisting zoological staff with campers during animal encounters.
    • Create a fun and safe environment for both campers and staff.
    • Follow set procedures and schedules discussing changes with the leadership team.
    • Communicate needs and document occurrences during daily operation.

    What it takes to succeed: At least 19 years of age required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree in

    education:

    , recreation, early childhood development, marine biology, biology, or zoology majors preferred. Previous

    experience:

    working with children required.

    Experience:

    working in a camp environment or

    education:

    al setting preferred. CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or National Safety Council required by May 25th. A valid driver’s license from state of residency and comfortable driving a passenger vehicle preferred. Available weekly May 27-August 7 from Sundays at 9:00am to 12:00pm on Fridays Comfortable working with children 10-18 years of age.

    Willing and able to live on sight during the camp program Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, walk and stand extensively, and stoop or crouch to camper heights required. Ability to crawl, climb/ascend heights, and lift 50+ lbs preferred. Willingness to ride roller coasters, water attractions, and sit in the splash zones at presentations.

    • Leadership - Providing guidance and direction to campers while serving as a role model, fostering a sense of responsibility and teamwork among them, demonstrating the ability to self-motivate as well as motivate others while managing time wisely and setting priorities effectively.

    Resilience - Demonstrating resilience in handling challenging situations, such as managing behavior issues or unexpected changes, or performing multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a positive attitude and focus on the well-being of campers. Safety Awareness - Prioritizing the safety and well-being of campers and colleagues, ensuring that the whole group is together, and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, especially when working near marine and terrestrial animals and in crowded environments.

    Compensation:
