Director, PLM - Technology

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the architecture, integration, and performance

of PLM technologies. Familiarity with Oracle, FlexPLM, Creo, Windchill, StarLIMS, and

other leading technology is a must. You'll lead a high-performing team while collaborating

across engineering, quality, sourcing, and supply chain to streamline how product data moves

from concept to production and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end PLM ecosystem, including FlexPLM, Creo, and StarLIMS,

ensuring robust system architecture, integrations, and data integrity.

Oversee the implementation and optimization of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs),

product structures, and configuration processes that support accurate, efficient change

management across design, quality, and sourcing.

Drive system integration between PLM, ERP, CAD, LIMS, and other enterprise

platforms to ensure seamless flow of product and component data across functions.

Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to align BOMs, component

lifecycle data, and product specifications—ensuring consistency from design through

production and service.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to automate workflows, improve traceability,

and reduce time-to-market.

Translate complex business needs into technical specifications, configurations, and

enhancements.

Leadership & Strategy

Create a multi-year strategy focused on migrating PLM technology to the cloud and the

adoption of AI.

Lead and develop a team of PLM experts, system architects, and administrators; foster a

culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Serve as the strategic bridge between technical teams and business functions including

product, engineering, sourcing, quality, and supply chain.

Contribute to the broader digital and IT strategy by aligning PLM roadmaps with

enterprise objectives—particularly in sustainability, innovation speed, and operational

efficiency.

Partner cross-functionally to define future-state workflows that balance compliance,

flexibility, and user experience. Encourage creativity and a product-mindset when approaching digital problem-solving—

simplifying complex tools into intuitive, usable solutions.

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of experience managing PLM systems in a consumer product, manufacturing,

or high-tech environment.

Deep experience with FlexPLM, Creo, Windchill, and StarLIMS—and how these

systems integrate with ERP and CAD platforms.

Strong understanding of the PLM technology landscape, cloud solutions, and AI.

Strong background in ECO management, change control workflows, and

engineering/supply chain collaboration.

Proven ability to support product development and supply chain functions through

accurate BOM management, variant configuration, and product data governance.

Leadership experience with technical teams; ability to inspire, mentor, and build trust

across departments.

Strategic thinker with solid business acumen and the ability to communicate with both

engineers and executives.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s

preferred).
