Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is a full-time, year-round position responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments for the NOC Outfitter’s Store and Grove Park Inn locations0. This role ensures accurate processing of retail inventory and Ecommerce orders, while maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment. Reporting directly to the Outfitter’s Store Manager, the ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in communication and loss prevention. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Receive and process all shipments, including FedEx, UPS, and freight deliveries.
  • Accurately process incoming retail inventory and store-to-store transfers.
  • Pack and ship Ecommerce orders promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving records and logs for both retail locations.
  • Drive product between Bryson City, Asheville, and Gatlinburg locations as needed.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and optimized for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with store management on layout and loss prevention strategies.
  • Communicate and resolve shipment discrepancies with vendors and the buying team.

Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in retail receiving preferred; Lightspeed POS experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with UPS and FedEx systems preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Quick to learn POS and inventory systems through hands-on training.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs safely; comfortable on ladders and standing for long periods.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license; available for 40-hour workweeks and some holidays.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs alone and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Strong visual acuity and color perception.
  • Effective communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills.
