SUMMARY

As a Senior Product Manager for Helmets, you will lead with vision, empathy, and relentless drive—translating the voice of riders into innovative, high-performance products that define the future of cycling safety. Fueled by deep curiosity and a passion for rider experience, you’ll uncover insights from athletes around the world and turn them into meaningful product strategies. In this role, you’ll champion the helmet category from concept to launch, shaping the product line with a forward-thinking mindset and a commitment to excellence that inspires those around you.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Helmet Strategy: Will be the voice for Helmet business, becoming the driving force for project initiation through launch. Rider Insights: Research product needs from our global riders and translate into product briefs. Product Line Management: create product vision for category to meet the needs of riders, business and brand. Profitability: Work with finance and sales teams to maximize profitability, set pricing and sales strategies. Product Specifications: Maintain product specs, costs, timelines, and details to support GTM efforts & systems. Innovation Vision: Work with engineers & designers continually to build innovation road maps and concepts. Trends: Be on the leading edge of product trends, style, functionality, etc in all types of cycling. Leadership: Be the champion for the Helmet business – connecting athletes, retailers, sales teams and executives. Colors & graphics: Partner with the Design Team to create premium, world-class designs and limited editions. Go-to-Market: Partner with the Rider Promise Team to elevate storytelling and deliver on-time to market.

wHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Inspiring Presentations: Experience creating product presentations, at many levels – for both product and strategy.
  • Line vision: Deep understanding of retail, merchandising and product line structure strategy.
  • Athlete Performance. Passion for rider performance; ability to translate rider feedback to problem statements.
  • Demonstrated leadership: Experience leading groups of people towards a vision; ability to influence up/down/across.
  • Systems Experience: Excellent Excel and other Microsoft Office skills, ability to quickly learn Flex PLM system.
  • Time with Riders: Open to travel (international and domestic) 15-20% to spend time with core riders.
  • Curiosity: Humble approach to team collaboration and a passion and curiosity to drive for real innovation.
  • Resilience: Mindset that is biased for action, with the determination to take innovation to the completion.
  • On-site Location: Role is located on-site, 3 days per week, in Morgan Hill, CA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Experience in product management or other related function.
  • Highly developed presentation abilities.
  • Prefer two years of experience in sporting goods industry.
  • Deep understanding of retail and the corresponding opportunities and challenges.
  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of design and development processes including timelines, manufacturing & delivery.
  • Experience working with manufacturing such as foams, plastics, and additive processes.
  • Curiosity to continually find a better way, humble approach to teamwork and a passion to aim for real innovation.

PAY

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:

California Base Pay Range: ($71,439 - $117,875 )

*At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
